FindTheName Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 November 2026 · Scope: FindTheName 1.4.9 ad-free release

This policy covers the paid, ad-free FindTheName 1.4.9 release. Earlier advertising test builds are described in our historical policy.
At a glance

1. Who is responsible

FindTheName is published under the Anvil Paradox brand by Stylianos Sklomponakis, an independent developer based in Greece ("we", "us"). For processing for which we determine the purposes and means, we are the data controller. Contact: [email protected].

2. Name generation and local information

FindTheName generates suggestions using word libraries bundled with the app. Its naming features work without an account or developer-operated generation server. It does not send your naming inputs, generated names, favorites or notes to a developer-operated server or an AI generation service.

The app stores information on your device to provide the features you choose, including saved names, notes and ratings, naming preferences, learned likes and hidden names, a record of previously shown names, theme choice and your age-range selection. Temporary filters and comparison selections may reset when a fresh session starts; saved information is handled separately.

The naming features do not request contacts, microphone, camera or precise device-location access.

3. Advertising and analytics in this version

The ad-free release covered by this policy does not display advertisements and does not include the Google Mobile Ads or User Messaging Platform SDKs. It does not request advertising consent or access the Android advertising ID for advertising. We do not operate an analytics or crash-reporting service in this release.

This statement applies to the verified ad-free release, not to earlier advertising test builds. If advertising is introduced in a future update, its data practices and applicable privacy choices will be explained before the new processing begins, and this policy and the store declarations will be updated.

4. Optional actions involving other services

5. Support correspondence

If you email [email protected], we receive your email address, message, attachments you choose to send and ordinary email metadata. We use them to respond, investigate issues and handle privacy requests. Our support inbox is hosted by Gmail. Avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information.

6. Purposes and legal grounds

Where the GDPR applies, we process information necessary to provide requested services or take related pre-contractual steps on that basis. We rely on legitimate interests for proportionate support administration, troubleshooting, security and protecting legal rights where those interests are not overridden by your rights, and on legal obligations where required. Where a particular optional processing activity requires consent, that consent must be obtained and may be withdrawn without affecting prior lawful processing. External providers explain their own purposes and legal grounds.

7. Retention and deletion

There is no FindTheName user account to delete.

8. Security, recipients and international processing

App information is stored locally. The app interface uses bundled WebView resources and opens external destinations separately. No security measure guarantees absolute protection.

Optional external services and our email provider may process information outside Greece or the European Economic Area. Where required, transfers under our responsibility must rely on a lawful mechanism such as an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards. We may disclose information where legally required or necessary to protect legal rights. See the relevant provider policies, including Google’s privacy policy, for their independent practices, or contact us about processing under our responsibility.

9. Your rights

Depending on applicable law and circumstances, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, object to processing and withdraw applicable consent. We do not operate automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you.

Contact [email protected]. We may request proportionate verification. We do not receive a remote copy of your local saved names or notes; remove those on your device. We generally respond to GDPR rights requests within one month, subject to lawful extensions. You may complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority or another competent authority.

10. Age audience

FindTheName is intended for people aged 13 and over and is not designed or marketed for children under 13. The audience is separate from the store’s content maturity rating.

The existing age-range control uses broad ranges rather than a birth date and stores the selection locally. It may be revisited using the app’s Age range control. In this ad-free release, selecting an adult range does not activate advertising. The existing under-13 age-requirement notice remains. Age selection is self-declared rather than independently verified.

If you have a younger user’s privacy concern, contact [email protected].

11. Changes

We will update this policy when behavior, providers or requirements change and communicate material changes where required. Adding advertising later will require a new review of the app, policy and applicable privacy choices; this ad-free policy is not authorization for future advertising.
